Yoga Fit what and what are asanas

Fit Yoga takes its cue from the more strictly physical component, a program proposed in different gyms and which inserts all the work of Hatha Yoga, that is the Yoga of the physical discipline, applying it in a group fitness context. The asana , i.e. the various positions proposed , push the body to move in different directions, to improve or restore mobility to the joints, increasing the level of awareness through breathing and concentration. With the practice of sequences and positions you will also improve balance and coordination, developing at the same time muscle strength and flexibility . The control of one’s body will be fundamental, imagining oneself in the different positions, but also the intervention of the instructor who will be able to control and correct to ensure that the positions are assumed correctly. The music used in this program will be slow and fluid and the volume low, the musical beats should not be strong, as those who move should not be tempted to follow the tempo of the music, but their breath, listening to their body, keeping concentration on it. You can use asanas from standing, seated, prone, supine. Positions are generally assumed wearing comfortable clothing and bare feet, to facilitate contact with the ground and reduce the risk of dangerous slips; in this regard, also pay attention to the type of flooring.

The  standing asana they are invigorating and stimulate balance. In particular they restore the correct posture of the trunk, favoring the proper distribution of the load on the lower limbs. From here, awareness of the right posture can also arise in the gestures of daily life, such as walking for example. Here are the names of some standing asanas: mountain, half moon, warrior, triangle, tree, twisting prayer, chair, table.

The asanas while seated they are calming, relieve fatigue and diversify into positions of upward stretching of the torso, hyperextension and positions with forward bending of the torso. They are for example: cobbler, boat, pliers.
The prone asanas they are performed with the abdomen facing down, in some cases also resting on the hands. They require a lot of physical effort, because they often use the backward bending of the torso. They are important because they strengthen the muscles of the spine, both at the back and at the lumbar level, as well as the abdominal wall and the upper limbs. For example: mouth up dog, locust, bow, crow, stick.
The asanas supine they must be performed with the back towards the ground, they are generally less intense than the others and are used towards the end of the sequence, to slow down the rhythm, prepare the body for relaxation at the end of the session and recover energy. Here are a few: bridge, plow, fish, corpse. In general, to see the various asanas click here .

The “sun salutation” in fit yoga

Perhaps the best known sequence is the sun salutation, which consists of a combination of asanas to be practiced in series , with steps in the different positions of the body. Generally it is proposed at the beginning of the lesson, but it can also be done independently and freely, in the morning, immediately after waking up. In fact, many people use it as a “muscle awakening”, to give the body back the mobility lost during the hours of the night and to oxygenate their body well before starting the various daily activities.

Almost all of us perceive a sensation of stiffness when we wake up, the sun salutation can therefore help us reactivate blood circulation, stretching the muscles and exercising the joints.

There are different types of sun salutation, therefore it will be advisable to find the most suitable modality to the physical condition of each one, which allows it to be performed safely and allows each to derive the desired benefits.
